The Canon-radio spots touting how easy it is to get shots like the pros when you buy a Rebel XTi proved to be effective, the face it.So you've gone and bought a SLR . Now read the manual from front to back. But who really wants to do that? Follow these tips if you some time by the thick manual overwhelmed. Here is what you should just know the . "I say" work "because you're not in total control and you aredo not let the is right for you.
Set the to auto. When it is full auto do. The idea is to take some pictures to work you something.
Download images to your computer. Normally there are 2 options for this, although a 3rd one, today we have the knack of all, but can not for everybody.
The first option requires that you install the driver software on your computer and connect your via a cable to connect to (usually USB2.0) The 2nd Variant with an external card reader is the one I recommend, because it need not discharge the battery of your and your tethered to your computer. This, you can play, if you have another memory card. Why wait around? Life is too short, and the memory cards are now so cheap. 3. Your option if you used your , the "SD" or Secure Art, includes the purchase of a Wi-Fi enabled memory card. This particular SD card can transfer your imageswirelessly to your computer via your WiFi network to your computer and upload them to the many photo-sharing sites.
Format the memory card. When the card is full, and after you have downloaded the images onto your computer, delete this setting, the images on the card and gives it to be reused again and again.
Once you've mastered the steps 1,2 and 3, you are ready to go with dangerous and reckless abundance. Jump around your owner's manual to find outhow to change these settings next
ISO. ISO refers to loading on the sensitivity of the CCD or couple device. If you're a film shooter, it's like having the ability to change the film speed mid roll. You might find in a bad light, so this is a must.
Shutter speed and aperture. Select the Aperture priority and set the aperture of f 5.6. As long as you do not get some kind of protest from your , you should be good. When the shutter speedfalls under the you can not hold hands, be provided some cameras beep or kick in the built-in flash (assuming you have one on the top of the )
If you're shooting a moving object, select shutter priority, and see if you have a picture, see 1 are "/ 500 seconds. Even if it is too little light, there's usually an indication. The focus point in my changes color from green to yellow as indicator. Yours have something similar.
White Balance. The Standard –on the 's automatic white balance. This works for 95% of the time. Since you have invested the money in an amateur , why not see what you already paid for? If you do not try to change the white balance manually, you will never know. Generally, there is daylight, cloudy, fluorescent, incandescent, auto and custom. The safest way is to know, by testing them on the same subject among all the different lighting conditions and then open the image on your computer. The small LCD (LiquidCrystal Display) screen on the is not a good indicator.
Compression. This is the setting or what the "quality" that the will take pictures of your unknown. Used to be a problem if memory cards were expensive. These days everyone has a drawer full of these cards, because most people never download their pictures like in the movie day, they never developed, the role of the film until it is completely to.The only difference are, supposedly capable of storing memoryYour images indefinitely without degradation.Film because of their chemical properties to deteriorate.
Autofocus sensor. By default, most cameras have this "red center" cursor. They want to be able to change this, if you want your subject to be always in the middle.

So you have it. Additional features such as automatic exposure bracketing and burst rate, or continuous or automatic focus are secondary. These settings will be useful once you have mastered Tips 1 to8.
