Sony iPod - What Happened To Walkman?
There is no doubt that the iPod is really gone very successfully in the portable media arena. And what is the original creator of the music and the first portable device three decades ago? Has Sony lost the battle with Apple Corporation? Or was it the fight for at least the competition to win? Well, the Sony is still difficult to lead when winning the world's widely used portable multimedia device. For this reason, there is what they call the "Sony iPod."
SonyiPod
It can be a very embarrassing situation that a particular company's product name is replaced with his rival company. May be to some, with the nickname "Sony iPod" is a very disrespectful act to the original portable music player player. But for some it is perhaps a point to fight.
Sony just that characterized because it includes its very own multi-media player device launched at the same time as the iPod launched. No one really knows whether a planned accident. But the historic event in the digital world may be a legacy of the position.
Walkman development through the years
Sony does not let you easily lose the fight. From the first moment has the Walkman music business to succeed Sony never stopped developing and creating new and exciting music devices. As the popularity of music in compact disc (CD), drawn from the Sony CD Walkman or Discman. This device is smaller with the newer Walkman, theis the MiniDisc Walkman.
But in the beginning of the third millennium, the Sony NetMD or Network MD has published. This device extends the MiniDisc Walkman functions. This is one of the first devices that allows the use of computers in the conversion of music in ATRAC3 format. NetMD is also one of the first devices, USB cable used in the transfer of music files.
Then, in 2004, Sony has launched another new-generation Hi-MD Walkman, the Walkman. The WalkmanVersion used 1 gig space for music and files.
The first Sony's trying, like iPods, is the creation of NW-HD1. This was seen as a smaller device that is a better quality of iPods announced as the sounds. The only downside is that it can only play the music used, while in the ATRAC3 format and more people are mp3 format.
After the NW-HD1, Sony has released the NW-MS70D. This is the first Walkman version that earned the hearts of consumers. But it was also published the sameTime as the iPod. Again, this portable MP3 player has less than 400 megabytes of memory capacity.
Reach the next Walkman, the market is the NW-MS90D. This version is almost similar to iPod, but then made it very expensive for the public to turn to Apple's product. Also making the next Walkman NW-HD3 not win it for the competition because of poor design.
The NW-HD5 win iPod made it better than the earlier versions, but still, it did not take.
Finally, Sonypublish the hard drive Walkman NW-A Series. This is only comparable iPod with 20 gigabytes of storage capacity and EL-screen technology. It also offers 20 - to 35-hour capacity new Walkman. This technology from Sony can also music with various formats such as ATRAC3, WMA and MP3.
To date, Sony is still difficult to win an iPod via the iPod to own a Sony too. Who knows, maybe Sony lead the race again.
